Make room for a little planning

Home Maintenance Checklist

Use this starter checklist to note what needs attention around your home. You do not need to finish every task yourself—bring your questions when we review your maintenance plan.

CARE FOR YOUR PROPERTY

Around the outside

From a safe ground-level position, note visible changes and items you want us to review.

  • Visible gutter overflow, sagging, or downspout drainage concerns
  • New roof or siding damage visible from the ground
  • Worn seals, weatherstripping, or visible caulk around doors and windows
  • Standing water or changes in drainage near the home
  • Exterior lights or walkways that need attention

CARE FOR YOUR PROPERTY

Home systems

Keep a record of symptoms, equipment details, and service history for the appropriate professional.

  • HVAC filter type, size, and last replacement date
  • Heating or cooling performance changes and unusual equipment sounds
  • Visible moisture or leaks around plumbing fixtures and appliances
  • Water-heater model and last professional service date
  • Longer dryer drying times or a dryer-exhaust service due date

CARE FOR YOUR PROPERTY

Inside your home

List accessible items that are due for review or routine upkeep. Follow equipment instructions and leave work beyond your experience to an appropriate professional.

  • Smoke and carbon-monoxide alarm locations, model dates, and service reminders
  • Doors, cabinets, and hardware that are loose or do not operate smoothly
  • Visible bathroom or kitchen caulk that is damaged or separating
  • Recurring window condensation or musty odors
  • Accessible light fixtures and bulbs that need attention

Get ready for a maintenance conversation

A few notes help us review your property and priorities.

  • Approximate home square footage and number of stories
  • Number of bathrooms, kitchens, and heating/cooling systems
  • Pools, guest buildings, detached structures, or other special features
  • Your most important maintenance questions and small repair priorities
  • Recent repairs, warranties, manuals, and known access restrictions
  • The best phone number and times for a scheduling conversation

Build a plan around your home

This is a planning checklist, not a complete maintenance assessment, real-estate home inspection, or safety inspection. Compare standard plan estimates, then call us to review your home's details and arrange an assessment. Stop using equipment that appears unsafe and contact the appropriate emergency service or professional when needed.
